The Position
As the successful candidate, you will be leading our Development Team (20 plus employees strong, including Business Analysts, Developers and Testers) in the delivery of leading edge products.
The AusRegistry Development Team utilises processes based on the Agile methodology. The Development Manager is expected to be extremely knowledgeable in the implementation of Agile methods, including possible shortcomings, and be prepared to be flexible enough to adapt the core Agile approaches as required to meet the business objectives. The Development Manager should also have a broad understanding of other Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models and know when to apply other methods to achieve the desired outcomes.
The Development Manager is expected to be extremely well organised, good at dealing with people with varying personality traits, able to work effectively with people to achieve objectives, have strong project management and reporting skills and be prepared to take responsibility and ownership for managing the Development Team.
To be effective in this role the Development Manager must be able to manage and promote relationships with key stakeholders.

Skills and Experience
- A relevant degree in software development
- 3 years of experience as a Development Manager in an organisation using Agile software development techniques
- Extensive experience and knowledge of;
- Agile leadership and coaching
- People management
- Software requirements management
- Software quality assurance and control
- software development practices and standards
- software configuration management
- Experience developing software using;
- Java technologies
- Design patterns
- Continuous integration, including automated
- Builds
- Unit testing
- Regression testing
- Performance Testing
- Security and accessibility testing (is a plus)
- Experience using tools such as:
